Dear Friends,

This has been a challenging year for so many. Yet, despite the many obstacles in these uncertain and difficult times, our community has worked tirelessly to make it possible for the weekly classes at Mahakaruna KBC to continue, no matter what. Recently, through a tremendous collective effort, we were able to reopen our physical space in the heart of downtown Petaluma. Due to this wonderful development, we can now offer you all of our classes both online and in-person in a beautiful new meditation center space. We are deeply grateful for the generosity and support from you it took to help us realize this vision!

Now, with the end of the year fast approaching, we ask you to please consider a year-end donation to Mahakaruna KBC. Your contributions are used for our general operating expenses, educational programs, special events, and so much more. Any amount helps and is appreciated. MKBC is a non-profit organization, run solely by many dedicated volunteers, and we rely on your generosity for the growth and flourishing of our Dharma Center and community.

Thank you to everyone for your past and continued support! We wish you a peaceful holiday season and a very happy new year.

To make a donation you can either mail a check to

What is Kadampa Buddhism?

Modern Kadampa Buddhism is a special, systematic presentation of Buddha’s teachings particularly suited for contemporary society. This presentation preserves the meaning and intention of Buddha’s original teachings while making them clear and practical in a way that anyone can easily understand and put into practice.

Mahakaruna Kadampa Buddhist Center is one of over 1200 Kadampa centers and branches now established throughout the world. We offer in-person and online meditation classes for all levels of interest and experience.
