Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully​

Living in the shadow of death might seem morbid, but it’s actually quite liberating and relaxing.  Why?  Because  it’s embracing the truth about our life.  

 

We all know, intellectually, that we will die, but we live our life as if this were not the truth.  Hiding this truth from ourselves can actually create low-level anxiety and worry in our life.  It can also cause us to take our days for granted instead of joyfully embracing the moments that we have to live.  This course will help us prepare for our own death and use these preparations to actually enjoy our life to the fullest.

 

In addition, we ourselves are not the only ones who will die.  Everyone around us will eventually have to experience death.  In this course, we will learn to help the people around us as they prepare for their deaths and as they go through the death process itself.

 

And not just humans will die!  Our pets will die and so will all other animals.  Have you ever come across an animal or an insect in the final moments of its life and not known what to do?  With Buddha’s teachings, we can learn simple yet profound techniques to open the door for our animal friends to die peacefully and take a fortunate rebirth.

Each class stands on its own, everyone is welcome to come at any time.

What to expect in this class:

• 15 minute guided breathing meditation.

• 30 minute teaching on the class topic.

• 15 minute guided meditation on the class topic.

• Wrap up, informal discussion, and tea.
